The tahriibyaal (Somalis who wish to make it to Europe) are in constant threat of being raped. Men are usually kidnapped by female soldiers, taken to the desert and raped. This has been confirmed to be by more than one source. My auntie who used to work in the Libyan embassy for Dowladda Kacaanka has informed me that they cannot roam in military zones for fear of being kidnapped and raped.
