The Awdalites of London are holding series of big conferences and meetings coming November 2nd-4th in which a president for AwdalState will be elected. The conference is expected to be highly attended by audience and participants. There are 3 registered candidates that will contest for becoming the 1st AwdalState president.
the eligibility criteria for candidates made by the selection committee was as follow:
1) Every candidate must be a resident of Awdal and must be forty years of age or older.
2) Must not be a member of another political party or other political association.
3) Must not have a criminal record and must never have committed a crime against the residents of Awdal.
4) Must be of good behaviour and must never have committed fraudulent actions such as tribalism.
5) Must believe in and uphold the interests of Awdal.
6) Must be in good mental and physical health.
7) Must have a good knowledge of the Somali language.
8) Must have a High School Diploma.
9) Must have the capacity to speak in public.
10) Must pay the fee of $1000 to register your candidacy.
11) Must be willing to swear on the Koran to uphold the interests of Awdal.
12) Must submit to the selection committee your candidacy as well as a police security check no later than October 21 st, 2011. The selection committee may consider a late application only if warranted on a case by case basis.
