why has there never been rich white women married to poor black men?
asked a white friend of mine at uni and it it disturbed me when i couldnt think of one famous or rich white woman that ever married a poor black man

That's not disturbing at all. Women look for a man with money and status, men look for a good looking women. Majority of women want to marry a man who makes more money than them, that's regardless of their race.
