If only Somaliland...(LONG BUT MUST READ)

Post by BigBreak »

Of course we dont have the possibility to travel back in time, but looking back I have the feeling and wouldve advised that in 1991 the northern part of the two state made Somali Union did not withdraw to reestablish an independent Somaliland and instead decided to set up a rival govt under the same united state based in the north e.g. Hargeisa or Erigavo and the state was called for example "Somali People's Republic" with the union intact yet with democracy, it would have let to an recognised, independent Somaliland by now because:

1. The world would have recognised a northern based govt as the official the union country and would have taken the old SDR state's place in the world e.g. UN, OIC, AL etc.
2. To the outside, this govt based in the north would be a national govt but on the ground it would be a northern dominated one
3. Although in theory by law the govt is to operate across across the country, it will in reality only operate in the ex British Somaliland territory only and reject to incorporate some or all of ex Somalia d'Italia under its rule
4. Over the course of time the "national" (really northern) govt with full diplomatic relations and membership of intl organisations would change, through amending its constitution and laws, its name, flag, other symbols like emblem, and crucially its BORDERS to bring about a modern 'Republic of Somaliland' based on the ex Protectorate's boundaries
5. Somaliland would now be keeping full recognition/relations across the world, have full membership of world bodies, have a functioning state, booming economy and well armed strong military and most importantly 100% sovereign control of all her national territory.

Oh well, we'll take the long route to recognition I guess :D

 So you mean Hijack the Somali name and country for your own clan goals.......what did i tell you guys the shame sees no boundaries.

What SNM should of done is put the capital in Hargeisa and then Somalia would of been a different entity today.
Out of curiosity how come this option wasn't chosen anyone know, they should of just rejected the fighting between Mahdi and Caydiid ? I'm sure the IC would of accepted this.

isaaq's not the only clan in somaliland aka ex british protectorate :?

but its true the usc greed for power broke the camel's back and made us abandon the union for good which is right for us. ex italian somalia will fragment into at least 3 mini states you heard it first here.

Build a stable Govt for your people, whom have suffered for decades. :D :som:
u mean "our" people unless j/land has declared independence. sub national regions in federal countries shouldnt be allowed to share some powers jointly with their central govt and exclusively keep the remaining powers to itself, that would be tantamount to having one's cake and eating it too which leads to chaos and balkanization which isnt good to any country let alone a 4th world shithole like :som:

BigBreak aka Superlander waxaad aheyd waa la ogaa niyow.

Nonetheless you raised some valid points. There were politicians and leaders within Isaaq that wanted a north-south based federacy, they also wanted to create a new union with Somalia because the union from the 1960's was illegal. By creating a new union, there would also be a new constitution that would give Somaliland the possibility to leave the republic at any time, however in this day and age I think we did the right thing.

Somaliland can't make the same mistakes twice. :sland: :stylin:

Why do you isaaqs always act like kids when speaking to other people. Somaliland is a project created for beesha isaaq
Sxb next time come correct.

SNM should of ridden the Somali storm and taken control of Somalia from Hargeisa. Tuur a true man wanted this however Egal etc etc were too brain dead to know that for the next 25 years his clan would be in international limbo  You guys even wanted to excommunicate his clan

Big break mini states are testaments to the failures of our race. Its great shame that 10 million can't reconcile whereas 1.5 billion han Chinese live in peace, 166 million 100 ethnic group Nigerians live in peace. Think this over sxb worst thing is we are all Muslims. Only a Jahil could refute what i just said because a Muslim with an ounce of sincerity would agree with these statements.

I agree with you.
The first of these narrations is that of Thawban - radiallahu 'anhu - the freed slave of the Prophet sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam. He related that the Messenger of Allah said: "The nations are about to call each other and set upon you, just as diners set upon food."
http://sunnahonline.com/library/contemp ... he-prophet

While we fight each other our neighbors are waiting to devour us just like they food in a bowl. Aka Xabesha nation kenya Uganda The west etc etc. Its actually quite sad.
