His atheism is irrelevant... But his anti-theism is potentially a motivator to violence. Anti-theism can be a dangerous system, and therefore I could see it resulting in violence against religious people in extreme cases. however, it's equally possible that this is like all of those violent video game or pornography examples the media comes up with regularly. "Look, this murderer brutally killed someone and he had a large collection of violent video games. It's clearly the games that motivated him to do so." As it stands, we have no evidence that him being an anti-theist is in any way a motivating factor, but I think it's also wrong to discount it as a possibility. Having said that, there aren't a lot of anti-theist viewpoints that have led to a violent crime. Anti-a-particular-theism, sure, but then religious people are just as likely to be the perpetrators of those acts
