Im looking for a woman (I am a woman myself) to practice my somali with. For example through phone calls discussing different subjects. I’m a quick learner and very happy to receive constructive criticism.

My level of understanding is really good but my confidence is low when speaking. I was born and raised in a european country with little interaction with somalis when young.

Perhaps these ladies can share with rest of us how they learned to write Somali. I am beginning to learn to write Somali. I want to get to the point of Somali being my first choice in writing, reading and speaking. Also, listen to Somali Tv's and radio. You will be able to subconsciously pick up the nuances of the language.

Waa salaam huuno, I wish I could mak the commitment to help you however I can't. To improve your confidence would suggest reading in Somali to build your vocabulary. Tune in to some old school Somali ruwayads and try chit chatting with hooyo and abo whenever possible in Somali. Oh and if people mock and laugh at your pronunciation ..laugh with them don't let it discourage u.
