Are somalis the same race as the ancient egyptians?
Am hearing this theory from two guys sitting here who are on markhaan mode.
I've also come to doubt that arab origin myth ever since i travelled to northern kenya and met tribes that very much looked somali but still practiced some ancient religion. Their language was around 40% afsomali.
So we definitely had a history before islam,
How is it that it all got lost?

Those heathens in Northern Kenya have nothing to do with us. It is insulting just being mentioned in the same sentence as them. They are still in 9000 BC
As for your question. mostlikey they looked like Somalis because Somali language and old Egyptian coptic language is from the same ethno-linguistic background. same Proto-Afroasiatic race and language which originated either in Ethiopia or the Levant

Somalis didn't exist as Somalis until the Ifat Sultanate

All that history belongs to Barbaroi as the Greeks and Arabs called them and their identity isn't known. Somalis appeared and became known as Somalis during the 1400s after some Xabashi King conquered Zeila and was bragging about defeating the Somalis.

yall need to stop with this embarrassing shit. you have sudanese ppl who are close to Egypt and actually do have pyramids and yet you dont see them claim that shit not even habashis and there you see somalis saying faraacinadi ban nahay like WTF!
would yall really claim that if ancient egypt wasnt praised by the whites? cuz all i see is somalis trying to run from their miserable reality that there country is screwed up and they are qaxoonti in each and every country in this fuckin world so they start to claim great civilizations hoping that might give them some dignity and some honer and ppl might look at them and say "hey yall really contributed in human civilization".
i havent heard nor see anyone claiming that before the civil war, so stop with this nonsense and be proud of being somali not fuckin egyptian!

Probably.
The Cushites are part of the group that came out of the Sahara as it dried up. The kingdom of Kush was just south of Dynastic Egypt and supplied one of the dynasties. Other dynasties came from Libya, itself part of the Sahara.
E1b1b, the typical Somali haplotype, is found clear across north Africa and into the Mediterranean basin.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berbers
"Around 5000 BC, the populations of North Africa were primarily descended from the makers of the Iberomaurusian and Capsian cultures, with a more recent intrusion associated with the Neolithic revolution.[49] The proto-Berber tribes evolved from these prehistoric communities during the Late Bronze to Early Iron Age.[50]
Uniparental DNA analysis has established ties between Berbers and other Afro-Asiatic speakers in Africa. Most of these populations belong to the E1b1b paternal haplogroup, with Berber speakers having among the highest frequencies of this lineage.[51] Additionally, genomic analysis has found that Berber and other Maghreb communities are defined by a shared ancestral component. This Maghrebi element peaks among Tunisian Berbers.[52] It is related to the Coptic/Ethio-Somali and Arabian ancestral components, having diverged from these and other West Eurasian-affiliated components prior to the Holocene.[53]"
I think one group moved east, out of the southern Sudan into the Nile valley and then into the Ethiopian highlands. From there it spread down the Juba and Shebelli rivers.

Re: Are somalis the same race as the ancient egyptians?
You're right my friend. Don't listen to these Arab slaves who think their ancient race was created by 4 or 5 horny Arab Sheikhs who popped all the black punani in the Horn as if God created naago in Africa and men in Arabia.
That myth is ridiculous to say the least.
Somalis are ancient people and are closely related to the Oromo, Sidamo, Afar, Saho, Bilen, Beja and the Agews.
The north Kenyan group you're talking about is the great Borana people and they are by far the closest.
Much of southern Somalis and those in NFD are actually mothered by the Borana.
These includes the Degodia, Warday, Digil, Mirifle and many other assumilated groups within Hawiye and Daroods not just the Saabs.
We are indeed ancient people and our great ancient neighbors were the Nilotics namely Dinka, Nuer, Masai, Sumburu, Nara, and the other groups.
They were the Nubians and we were the Kush.
In ancient Egypt we were part of the equation but most historians don't admit that ancient Egypt was very diverse civilization.
We began moving south and in the process pushed down the Nilotics.
We then created the Axum civilization after we left Egypt for whatever reason.
Indeed Axum comes from the Agew word Ak-shum.
Aksum or Axum is a word that gradually changed its sound from Ak-Shum. in Agew language Ak-means Sea or Water and Shum means ruler. Amharic inherited the word "Shum" from Agews and is still being used as titles like Wag-shum (ruler of the Wag district)...etc
So aksum or ak-shum is meant for the ruler of water/sea and was a province of Agews. The Agews started to build the city of Akshum two or three centuries before the birth of christ i.e 2nd and 3rd B.C and what we see in those older obelisks is the gods they used to worship.
The main God of our group was the sun God--Ra, which is where Qor-rax comes from meaning the sun was seen as the neck of God or extension of Him. Waaq was another God as was Eebe.
I believe Rax/Ra, Waaq and Eebe maybe different Gods in Ancient Somali believes. Each must have fulfilled specific role or spiritual.
If Somalis had prosperity then it was Bar-Waaqo.
Pure Somali is developed around sun of God from barwaaqo to garwaaqsi.
When we converted then we developed new identity and we turned on the rest of our families and slowly developed Arab ideology-inspired tribes.
In fact the biggest change in Somalis only occured from 17th to 19th century.
Today we are intelligent enough not only to know we pre-date Islam but we know no Arab banged our women.
All those tombs are either empty or house Arab jihadists no different than ISIS ones. They too maintain many wives both captured and mentally enslaved ones.
Personally I'm a man who celebrates ancient Africa.
We know that we were always northern people who only began expanding south as early as the 14-15th century.
We must have left the Ethiopian highlands when Agews embraced Christianity while we long left the Beja in the Sundanese valley.
Oromo went south while Somalis, Saho and Afar went eastward to present day southern Eritrea, Djibouti and the Afar region.
From Djibouti we must have settled in Zeila before we established Berbera.
Meanwhile Oromo expanded south very fast ovcupying fertile lands thus becoming agriculturalist.
Somalis were truly coastal people and they hardly ventured into interior while Oromo were opposite. Somalis navigated along the coast and went from Zeila to Mogadishu along the coastline.
It was only 17-18th century they began going interior occupying Oromo lands with present day Ogaden being the first to go interior and come into direct conflict with Oromo.
Ogaden was pushing Oromo out until late 18th century when Menelik's Abbysinian forces stormed the region then Ogaden changed their route south and that's how you gotto to Jubboyinka and NFD, which were then Borana, Warday, Digil, Bantu and Degodia lands.
