England's 16th century is more advanced than today's Somaliland. Cite 3-5 examples of how Hardaawi is better.DalJecel60 wrote: Sun Aug 18, 2019 4:36 pm "Compared to Shakespeare" looool

1. The language
Somali language is much much more richer than english in many aspects ........to a degree that Hadrawi could name the male and female termites (aboorka)
2. Culture
You know our culture is a literary culture.....one starts with small lambs and kids shepherding at a tender age (Maqasha inuu raaco) which has it is own songs and literature "maqalay warlay ma laguu waramay" there are sheep songs goat songs cattle songs camel songs ghee making songs etc. Also there is the sheeko xariir stage between 5 years to 9 and then "carab jalaqsi" tongue twisting and "halxidhaale" puzzle solving stages 9 to 12......then as a young adult the participation in the rainy season get togethers for a night long poetic rapping "Canbaro vs Hurre " style
3. Religion
Islamic religion especially the "Quran" is rich in different styles of words that rhyme, proverbs, history, science, human nature, facts and deeper meaningful character building and personality making materials......
4. Personal experience
The different life styles that Hadrawi led living in the countryside.....living in urban ....living in foreign lands as a teenager (Aden Yemen) ....speaking foreign languages thus absorbing other cultures and literature.......going to jail......leading a radical anti government lifestyle.....becoming agitator guerrilla fighter.
These things combined make Hadrawi again in my humble opinion more dynamic and richer in literature and wisdom than Shakespeare.

16th century afsomali was richer than English. Somali language itself is superior to any other when it comes to poetics , may be only the arabs and the Indians can come close to our level . Haadraawi considers himself nothing compare to the uneducated ones before him. Those people never read or write but they composed the greatest poems and Proverbs in somali history.
