"The official added that the aid would not go to Hamas. U.S. officials have no formal contacts with the Islamic militant group Hamas, which runs a separate Palestinian administration in the Gaza Strip."

Something does not add up here.. this is more like creating further animosity/hostility between Palestinians rather than sincerely helping those in need.

Brand Hauser: Look, we've already kicked the shit out of this place. What are we supposed to do? Turn our backs on all the entrepreneur possibilities? Business is a uniquely human response to a moral or cosmic crisis. Whether it's a tsunami or a sustained aerial bombardment, there's the same urgent call for urban renewal. War Inc

Yep 'Sultan' Obama approves it.

More than $900 million for Gaza? What about Americans who lost their homes and jobs? What about those who can't pay the bills? What about states that are facing drastic budget deficits? What about declining infrastructures that require repair or reconstruction? This is really baffling. America is in acute recession, yet its government is donating billions of dollars to foreigners.

This money is for same purpose than money promised by king of Saudi, to weaken Hamas and bring Fatah and seculars back to Gaza. They don't care about muslims or palestinians at all and have very different agenda than helping.

Money is given to Mahmud Abbas and other seculars and they will use it the way fitting USA's and their own agendas. And this is usually found out by reading first few lines of article after nice-sounding headline.

America isn't gonna succeed in weakening ordinary Palestinians' support for Hamas. For one, not even 10 dollar will reach a Gazan family if the money falls in the hands of Mahmud Abbas and the seculars. It's the nature of seculars that they are corrupt, greedy, inefficient, inept, self-serving, etc. On the other hand, if the money falls in the hands of Hamas, it will be well spent on ordinary Gazans. Hamas is well known for its social services activities.

$800 billion in stimulus funds were passed and sign last week.

Maryland is one of the many states that has no deficit now because of the stimulus.
