UNITY WEEK

Post by TMAN »

It is agreed that we all have one denominator which is "somali" and I am asking all of us to put our differences and hate/love dramas aside and have one peaceful week? In other words, can our arm-chair clan chiefs become Somali chiefs just for a week.

This is cyberspace where your words reach more than your intended audience. Putting other Somalis down won't help you at all, it will help researchers label you and your people (somalis) as primitive and good for nothing bunch of nomadic camel herders. When Somali land was divided into five, the papers that were presented at the United Nations claimed that we were nomads who don't know jack about self-rule. Sadly, that's still true today after 50 years. Reading some of your posts can underscore what was said 50 years ago.

PEACE 2 U ALL.

Coercion and ignoring the reality does not solve problems.

What if TMAN gets infected with the ''CUDUR'' and behaves like late Barre?

I am all for Unity and Brotherhood only when it comes about naturally and freely, but straight up against authoritarian coercion and unnatural forcing of reality into a constructed image of your mind.

I'm pessimistic when it comes to unifying Somalis under a nationalistic pretext. Loyalty to one's clan is far stronger than loyalty to one's country. unity will be achieved once everyone put aside their differences and unite under the banner of Islam ..slam is the remedy to all the ilnesses including clanism which is the clear obstacle that could derail any plans for peace and unification.

peace to you 2 TMAN

i will comply and attempt to write with my limited knowledge and writing skills an article why somalia has a great future only if somalis in the diaspora give somalia a chance to move on and march to glory. most of the diaspora somalis are still stuck to the horror they wittnessed in somalia or what their parents experienced and brainwashed them on. every action or thought for them is the qawiil's image and power and pay lip service to nationhood. i wont criticize them but i will plea to them.

if you want your proposal 2 succeed;

you need to lock the tribal/regional forums and actively moderate other forums and ban any poster who breaks the 'week of fasting' from negativity for the whole week. otherwise it will fail.
