2 Minn. women among 14 charged in terror probe

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP)— Prosecutors claim a woman in southern Minnesota who collected donations for Somali refugees was actually supporting a terrorist group.

Amina Farah Ali was known as the go-to person for Somalis in Rochester to donate clothes and other items for refugees.

According to a federal indictment unsealed Thursday, Ali and Hawo Mohamed Hassan were claiming to collect for charity but were sending money to the terrorist group al-Shabab.

Both women say they are innocent.

They were are among 14 people named in indictments unsealed Thursday in Minneapolis, San Diego, and Mobile, Ala. They're accused of being part of what the government called "a deadly pipeline" that routed money and fighters from the U.S. to al-Shabab.

She spoke with an Al Shabab commander in Somalia and told him " the enemy has visited me...dont pick up your phone" and then when she was arrested she said " I am arrested for my faith....my attorney is Allah" As far as common-sense is concerned, she is already guilty.

Did you hear the attorney general's statements on this issue? Sweden played a very important role in this case. One can not confront the threat of terrorism without at the same time fighting the Euro-based groups and individuals that work with Al Shabab. Paltalk and Somali discussion sites are an important source of financing and recruitment for Al Qaida and Al Shabab and these arrests show the depth and creativity of the enemy that challenges our country. It is the start of what is to come. Al Shabab sympathizers should not be allowed to lead double lives in our midst.

I don’t understand why these skinny Somalis want to export this filthy ideology of extremism to our Homes in the west. This woman deserves to be arrested if she worked with Alshabaab Militants in Somalia or even contacted them. Abdisamad is defending her now but if she blew him up I wonder what he would say
