Somalis in Ethiopian controlled territory need a new leadership and fresh ideas. How can they still be under Ethiopian rule when that country went through regime change and Eritrea fought its way out to independence? The current Ethiopian gov was an armed faction just like the Somalis before they unseated previous regime.
How come one faction went all the way to Adis, another one got independence and Somalis/Oromos are still owned livestock.
change your direction my friends..... you can't inside a revolving door forever
^ Somalis were not armed nor did they have an existing military presence to demand anything after Mengistu fled the country, the WSLF the last existing force followed the Somali army into Somalia after defeat essentially joining the Somali army, Somalia was too weak to launch or fund a campaign against Ethiopia and whether we like or not the WSLF became hostage to the Somali Government which accelerated its extinction. The 77 war and its aftermath completely crippled the Somalis of the Ogaden, the vast majority only returned after Mengistu was overthrown upon which they began reorganizing politically to join the new parties in claiming there right to determine there political fate having contributed significantly in the overthrow of Mengistu, unfortunately this occurred when the Somali civil war was at its height without Somalia the region was in a weaker position to bargain with the new powers .ONLF rose to be the only organised political force able to voice the peoples political grievance at the time, joining the transitional charter as the new Government seemed willing to open a new chapter displaying some promising constitutional changes specifically the rights of nations and nationalities. However the most powerful group TPLF began to monopolies power seeing the military weakness or lack there of other parties, in the Ogaden they systematically began a campaign to oust the elected regional Government(ONLF) in order to put in place surrogate parties of there own and this began the current conflict where the TPLF decided they would militarily control the country ousting all political parties across Ethiopia except for its TPLF surrogates.
Same situation with Oromos
Today thankfully the situation is good, except for the weakened down-trodden Ethiopian army we Somalis are the most organised political and military force. There is the gentle breeze of regime change coming across the country and things are looking rather bleak for Meles the old tricks are waning as his dictatorship ages. The whole country is bubbling either an uprising or an exodus to the armed groups is expected, we are in prime position in either case.

In 1993, the Meles Regime gave two options to the Somalis in Somali Galbeed. The largest Envoy were the Ogadens. They were given either to stay with Ethiopia or Join Somalia. They picked option ONE (To stay with Ethiopia). 20 years later....they're regretting the choice they made.
