The dictatorship of Europe: dissent shall be crushed

I was speaking to a greek friend of mine and he was telling me about how difficult the people have it there. It will be interesting to see how this all unfolds and whether europe comes closer together or pulls apart. Either way, it will be a bumpy ride

The fact of the matter is that there is an institutional reason to this debacle. Northern Europe with its culture of hard work (see, e.g. Max Weber on protestanic ethics), transparency, accountability and socio-economic equity against the corrupt south (read catholism).

Project European Union has gone far. Instead of a peace project, it has become a racist project with religious undertones by denying Turkey to be a member ( A former Turkish PM called the EU,a christian club). Tell me who is laughing now? Turkey has had unprecedented economic growth during the past years and is currently the 17th largest economy in the world and predicted to be the 11th in five years. The emergence of the BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China) will dwarf Europe's importance in the global economic scene.

My prediction is that the UK will leave the EU.

The only country with the capabilities of leaving the EU is Germany, France and England need the EU for many reasons. A sense of nationalism being prepurtuated by right wing groups is really the only obstacle, however, Europe (minus Germany) needs this union to stay relavent in the changing world dynamics.
