i live in ottawa and non of that exists...dont believe everything you hear...some of the most successful somalis hail from here...almost every kid is at uni and almost every adult makes a living for themselves

Ottawa Somalis aren't as thuggish as Toronto Somalis.

I was raised in Kanata and Nepean for the past 11 years. I did not see poverty and crime. I fared alright then and even better today.

This is not about poverty or crime. This is about a lack of respect and the bullying that tens of thousands of our people face everyday.

The solution is that we divorce Somalis from jareernimo and you create proper values in them! It isn't impossible. Too many Somali boys are listening to Chief Keef and Lil Reese, and imitating what they see in Chicago rap music videos.
