Somali author!

Post by Shankaroon_614 »

Hey, you guys, did you know about Nuruddin Farah. He is a real good Somali/African author. He is one of the best in Africa and in the modern litrature. Nice Smile. You should read atleast one of his books: Secrets, Gifts, A broken Rib, Maps, etc.
They are all good.

"He is a real good Somali/African author."

Does Nuruddin write in Somali? If no, how can he be a "real good" Somali author?

He is a real good writer, and he is a Somali, and he is an African.
Hence, he is a real good Somali/African author.

ArabMan,

aren't you quick to discredit anything Somali, Laughing ....Nurrddin Farah is an excellent writer, he has not written in Somali yet because he is an interntional writer. His books are translated in like 50 languages, and Somali being one of them.

How can u call him a real good author?? he is an author alright-- anybody can be an author, but very few can be good authors. His writings are archaic, dry & old school. Nothing captivating in his proses, nothing lively or interesting. He has the detached tone of Lord Diplock, the robotic void of Avowedly agnostic & the seniality of Galol--all packaged in one beautiful Hadiiyaad--& call him a good author??? I beg to differ. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

I read two books of his and he writes about incest, adultry and all kinds of other sh^t that are uncommon in a muslim country like somalia. His books are very dull too although not for the reasons fat basra mentioned.

Shankaroon,

I have done a paper on Nurrudin's life in high school. That was 7 years ago (i was a sophomore). So, yes, the whole world knows about him.

I personally found his books absolutely BORING. Very hard to read. His stories are about Somalia/somalis but they are written for a western audience. I believe he won or was nominated for Pulitzer prize.

Qaniisgabeyle-I thought gays were preoccupied with their looks that they don't have time for literature. You are one odd homosexual. Laughing

FF

DO u seriously think he read them books??? Rolling Eyes Laughing Laughing

He is just saying that --First --To proove he is smarter than George Bush--& at least he wants to claim he read a book.

And Second & most importantly--- He wants to show his Loyality in the Institution of Caano Geel--Somaliniimo-- by declaring he read a book written by a Maali, therefore Supporting 'perishing Africa' or 'Somalia' Rolling Eyes

Do u seriously picture Qansa sitting somewhere quite--reading a book?? Rolling Eyes Laughing Laughing

He will be itching wondering how many stories he is missing at the Somali hang out cafes or the place he works at-- Hiliib Halaal stores.

Come to think of it--is he the weird guy who was enjoying butchering the goat meat --when my dad took me to one of those Halaal store of some time ago??? That dude looked like the guy in arabman's avatar--very Nightmarish monster material. Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

Laughing Laughing Laughing Rolling Eyes Basra-Qansa is my boy. He may be an Islamist sicko but he is still my Somali brother and you have no right dissing him. Now apologize to the man.

P.S. I feel weird calling him a "man" when he clearly loves to take it like a woman. Laughing Laughing

I was about to post the review; no more. It's no wonder irrelevancy is what defines your topics/comments. Arrow
