But this one sealed it for me. Yesterday, Alshabaab's spokesman Sheikh Ali Rage in a very frustrated tone said:
http://www.upi.com/Top_News/Internation ... 259936065/....some government officials were seen leaving the hotel before the bomb exploded, leading to the belief "that they were behind the killing."
How did Rage know about this sensitive news? Not even the staff of the hotel knew other ministers, possibly even Sh. Shariif were also expected at the graduation ceremony. But as is tradition with Somalia, misinformation & unreliable intelligence runs rampant, this unfortunately led to the catastrophe that took place. Alshabaab informants fed their commanders wrong information. The suicide bomber waited and waited, he sat for at least a good 40 mins as was seen on the camera, but when no one showed up, he did what he had to do (in his deluded mind).
The 3 ministers who died and the scores of civilians were all bystanders, the intended target never showed and those who came, left immediately before the ceremony started. If things had gone as planned, Alshabaab would've called it a successful mission and claimed "the end justifies the means." They would've then misquoted a few of Sh. Albaani's quotes, thrown in a couple of wrongly interpreted verses and to top it all would've accused anyone who questioned their actions a "Murtad" and a "Baadil."
But because things ended badly for them, what do they do? They shift the blame to others. What mooryaan in his right mind would sacrifice himself to kill a few insignificant men? Not even Aideed or Abdullahi Yusuf could convince any of their mooryaan to sacrifice themselves for their cause, we are to believe Sh. Shariif can? This only allienates Alshabaab from the rest of the population. They've sunk an all time low and will only continue to sink even further. Whether they realize it or not, they have very little time left.
