Egypt's goals for Ethiopia

Post by Nomand »

It is clear Egypt is involved in the conflict in Ethiopia. Egypt is providing the TPLF both logistics and monetary means to fight against Abiy's government. However what does Egypt gain from the TPLF winning? to me they gain absolutely nothing from it, because the whole reason why Egypt is involved is because of the Nile river Dam project in Ethiopia. However the project was started by the TPLF under Meles Zenawi and all Ethiopians from Amhara to Tigray to even Oromo support the DAM project 100 percent and would never stop it under any conditions if they win.

So the question is why do they still support the TPLF? the answer is simple. As long as there is a conflict in Ethiopia the DAM project will be on hold indefinitely and even if the TPLF manage to somehow win. Egypt would switch their support to the Amhara faction of FANO. What a lot of people don't get is that there is a huge unprecedented social media propaganda being spread of the imminent doom on the faction that looses and therefore must win at all cost.

You have Amhara diaspora from the united states going to Ethiopia and either joining or creating a paramilitary militias. and when interviewed they are all saying they came back to protect their families from certain death. You have farmers and bakers leaving their jobs and joining factions like FANO and TPLF to fight in the front lines. It is very clear that a sustained campaign of propaganda was carried which targeted both sides. And as long as people believe that it is a zero sum game the longer this conflict will continue and the more Egypt will benefit from.

Imagine if Ethiopia remains like this for 20 years what's stopping an abdishakur warsame or a madoobe Ethiopian versions from destroying the dam for petty change? it is clear Egypt is playing the long game making sure there is a brain drain in Ethiopia and a new generation that only know poverty and war emerge then when the time is right a 5th column like Madoobe will be used to destroy the dam.

It's the Americans that are behind the TPLF lightning advance on Addis Ababa.

Just six months ago the TPLF were chased into Sudan and the Tigrean capital Mekele occupied.

There is no doubt the TPLF have been receiving huge outside support, both military, diplomatic and financial.

From a Somali perspective its beneficial to see Abiye and his Amhara handlers forced from power.

My only concern is that the Oromo, whom are fighting alongside the TPLF, will he empowered to invade the Somali region.

Countries like America/ Britain do a risk to benefit analysis when it comes to their foreign interest. America from the beginning where against the Dam project on the Nile because in an American point of view Egypt is strategically more important to them then Ethiopia. similarly Ethiopia is more important to them then Somalia.

now countries know this and apply pressure to America to pick their side. Egypt is keeping muslim brotherhood and Hamas at a bay for a purpose they are an ally to Israel for a purpose. Egypt is cashing in their diplomatic chips.

keeping Ethiopia in perpetual conflict would definitely put building the dam, or using it, on hold.
in fact, all economic development would be delayed, or stopped altogether, due to the wars.
while, the plan is evil in nature, they would have no conflict to exploit, had Ethiopia not been such a complex, complicated, group of nations who all cannot get along, at least on a political level.

Ethiopia is one nation, one people with one culture. Time for a strict separation of state and ethnicity. Secession should be banned as well
