Following months of international investigation by West Yorkshire Police, 27 year old Mustaf Jama has been arrested in and extradited from Somalia.

Today, West Yorkshire detectives flew back to Britain with Jama, wanted in connection with the murder of PC Sharon Beshenivsky in November 2005. Jama is currently being transferred to a West Yorkshire Police Station.

PC’s Sharon Beshenivsky and Teresa Milburn were shot on Friday 18 November 2005 as they responded to an alarm at Universal Travel, Morley Street, Bradford.

Five people have so far been convicted to date and this arrest is the latest step in the continuing investigation to bring all those suspected of involvement to court.

West Yorkshire Police thanks partner agencies and authorities at home and abroad for their co-operation and assistance.
