Next step is to bring somali ports under control of the govt

Post by 500ml »

Are you ready for this?
The federal government will want to gain full control of all ports in the sovereign nation.

With the new hargeysa deal, berbera port revenue is going to Mogadishu. Next mission is the darod control port of bosaaso and kenyan control kismaayo port.

Afterwards, All clan militias from hargeysa to RK will be under one General. That's all the government wants.

The ports will never come under federal control. Let's be real here.

Somalia has changed. Mogadishu's jurisdiction will be limited: foreign affairs/international relations, currency and military for Banaadir province.

Appreciate and welcome the new Somalia. An autonomous Somalia. A Somalia where only Mogadishu get's the world's attention. Muwahahahahaha!

that wouldnt be the case if somaliland and somalia was one country as hargeisa will become the favoured city for all somalis bar abgaals plus it would be the cultural, business and judicial centre of a united somalia and that will be the most focused city to the world like new york > washington dc

its best for u somaliland doesnt reunite with u guys as us elephants will no doubt change the balance of power and prestige 8-)

You weren't able to take the business capital of Somalis during 2 decades of war in Muqdisho and 2 decades of peace in Hargeisa. What makes you think you would be able to take it if Somalia was one peaceful country again?

Anyways, Somaliland will unite again. It'll just a long while. Don't get too comfortable.

hargeisa was the business centre of the FORMER somali republic which i think u forgot died 22 years ago albeit not officially due to koonfur envy of somaliland succeeding hence you lot refusing to recognize our independence just to bring us down to ur level

its more likely u guys become a ugandan province than us uniting ever again lmao

Somaliland will eventually re-join. It will take a really long process though. It will be hard but it will eventually happen. Let's be real: In order for Somaliland to get recognition, you need to have pro-separatist Presidents who actually believe in their cause. All of your Presidents are pro-union. Egal (AUN) was pro-union. His VP-turned President Riyaale is pro-union. Siilanyo is obviously pro-union who is currently working with Hassan Sheikh to get Somaliland a deal they rightfully deserve.

Look at the evidence below my friend:
Q: So you feel Egal is pro-unification, even though he says otherwise?

A: [Awale] Yes. When he says he is for independence, it is for local consumption only. He tells the people here one thing, but in his speeches elsewhere he has clearly declared that Somalia will unite one day. He says we will talk to the southerners when they make their home clean and negotiate with them... He says one thing to the public, and a different thing to the international community.

But Mohamed Omar, the foreign minister of Somaliland, a northern breakaway from the rump of Somalia, says the government in Mogadishu has achieved little despite its international backing. Both Somaliland and Puntland, a semi-autonomous north-eastern region, cold-shouldered a grand international conference on Somalia in London on May 7th. “The days when Somalia could be governed from the centre are over,” he said. “Anyone who brings them back will not bring peace.”
A clue there that he can be convinced of another arrangement other than centralism. There is also the case of a Somaliland former VP under Riyaale who said unity is inevitable and another article that I can't find at the moment in which the former foreign minister said an Somalia with a UAE style of governance can work for Somaliland.

I think Somaliland rejoining is more realistic than us becoming a Ugandan colony :D

u wish so but thats all propaganda what ur showing, we are completely different people with different lifestyles. for example, we did not kill daroods in somaliland after the faqash were overthrown yet u hawiyes slaughtered the daroods in somalia like chicken, colonail legacy is important since the british were for fair play which we inherited while italians were very sneaky which u guys inherited no lie?

why would be dumb enough to throw away our achievements since 1991 to rejoin another failed union which will again be one sided (south) and our people treated like scum. djibouti can unite with us as they are of the same outlook culturally, forget somaliland and reconcile ur own clan and the other clans in somalia

ps post 1991, hargeisa has been the main trading place for somalis bar abgaals, the proof is out there, dont speak for anyone other than abgaals ok

Somaliland will never be part of Somalia, wether you like it or not. Weligiinba khayaali isku maaweeliya but that won't change the reality on the ground.

Superlander, there is a reason why reer Awdal and reer Khatuumo will plug their ears when the initials S.N.M are said. They did get some of that SNM damage which is why you will hear every now and then some guy in Borama being arrested by authorities when he starts bad mouthing the SNM "mujahids".

Anyways, you are too emotional my friend. I will stop there. I actually support Somaliland independence but sometimes I need to be impartial. I like to see things at both sides. I like to play the devil's advocate on occassion.

Meyle,

Your half-hearted Presidents and politicians can easily ignore a few protests for a week or two in exchange for some suitcases of cash. This is Africa. Not even here in North America, the land of the free and democracy will governments listen to their people in most issues. So why should some broke African country? Be prepared for an eventual union :stylin:

our people and constitution forbids us to give up our independence and sovereignty, so i dont know how anyone can change this reality. any govt who violates our independence will be overthrown in no time and we have the military might and ethiopia's backing if somalia foolishly tries to fight us, which i think even they wouldnt do

our people are united for independence and our unity is unbreakable, outsiders to try to divide us will themselves be divided forever - dont throw stones from your glasshouse

viva rep. of somaliland, independence today, tomorrow and forever :stylin:

It will never happen but if something like that would take place, god forbid, I'll be first in line to put a bullet through their heads.

Our people forced our politicians to unite with former Somalia Italiana out of Somalinimo and only the people have that power, not Silaanyo or anyone else and the masses want international recognition and sovereignty, nothing else.

Superlander,

Your constitution also forbids your officials from speaking with Somalia officials despite meeting more than 3 times officially. Whoops!

Meyle,

At first, the Somalilanders didn't want it. The politicians just came in and merged the north with the south. The people at first were vehemently against it but then lost interest when they realized it was all said and done. And I suspect the same will happen again. But let's see what the future has in store for us
